Hadaf Mining Company is collaborating with local gemstone miners in Afghanistan to secure a market for the sapphire extracted from Badakhshan, Nuristan, and Kabul-Jegdali. The small-scale artisanal gemstone extraction industry has a rich history, with gemstones having been linked for 6500 years and still possessing valuable deposits of precious and semi-precious gemstones.
Sapphire is a rare gemstone, and the royal blue gem-grade sapphire is particularly scarce and well-known. Sapphire as a durable stone belonging to the corundum family, it is designated as the birthstone for September.
We offer a range of royal blue and fancy sapphires, from transparent to translucent, sourced directly from the mines. These sapphires come in a variety of colors, including violet, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and intermediate hues. The standard gemological testing conducted on these stones revealed that most of them have an RI of 1.760-1.768, an SG of 3.71-3.98, and a 9 Mohs hardness.
Please note that we only offer guaranteed genuine stones, which are considered precious. As such, we advise caution when dealing with lab-created or man-made synthetic stones.
